William Buxton Woolf, III, 58, of Weyers Cave, sadly passed away at his home on Friday, August 16, 2024.

The Lord delivered William into the world on September 9, 1965, in Rockingham County, VA, the firstborn of Virginia Kay Stout Woolf and the late William Buxton, Woolf, II. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Rankin Woolf. May they all be together in Peace.

In addition to his mother, William is survived by his three children, William Ty Woolf and spouse, Willow, Breanna Catherine Casados and spouse, Andrew, and Andrew Dillon Woolf and partner, Jocelyn; grandchildren, Alldyn and Kierryn Woolf, and Amadeo Casados; sister, Andrea D. Pyles and spouse, Shane; nieces, Jada Pyles and Terra Woolf, as well as numerous extended family members.

William graduated from Turner Ashby High School in 1984, going on to serve his country with the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1988. Following his military service, where he loved serving his country and supporting fellow veterans, William returned to his family’s generational farm, Middon Manor, est. 1848. Always having a passion for farming, working with animals, and with his mother’s help, he became a farmer and established a family-farm L.L.C. He also had a special interest in heritage and history, so the business of the family-farm was the best of both worlds. In addition to his passion for farming, William was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, so he decided to section off part of the farm for Conservation Wildlife. He also continued to pursue his passion for wrestling by becoming the youth wrestling coach at Fort Defiance High School. In his down time, he enjoyed cheering for his favorite football team, the Miami Dolphins.

William was known to be an incredibly hard worker, who was talented in many fields. He was also known to be someone who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand in times of need, someone reliable, who could be called on in a pinch. In his later years, he became passionate about the Bible and better understanding the word of God and the times to come; may the Lord see his passion and receive his soul gladly.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Virginia Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 62, Norge, VA 23127.
