WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro Police is seeking information on an attempted armed robbery.

Police say that on Friday, December 12, at approximately 6:00 AM, officers responded to a reported robbery at the Royal Mart, located at 185 East Broad Street, Waynesboro, VA.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with a witness who reported that a black male suspect entered the store wearing all black clothing, a gray hoodie with black striping, and a black mask. The suspect allegedly appeared to brandish a firearm concealed in his jacket pocket and demanded money from the cash register. He then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police are requesting assistance in identifying the individual pictured above.
