WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – Marquis Andrew Johnson, who was arrested last summer on drug charges, was sentenced to five years in jail.

He was scheduled to go to trial next month on two felony charges of manufacturing and distributing a Schedule I or II drug, second offense.

However, according to online records, the 29-year-old Johnson pleaded guilty to one of those charges in a plea deal with prosecutors. In exchange, the other charge was dropped.

A judge then sentenced him to 15 years in prison with 10 of those years suspended.

Johnson was arrested last June 22 after authorities executed a search warrant at his home in the 700 block of 3rd Street and seized Fentanyl pills and over $77,000 dollars in cash.
