WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Waynesboro man was arrested after a road rage stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m.

According to the Waynesboro Police Department, they received a report of a road rage incident that occurred in the 1200 block of West Broad Street. The incident resulted in a 37-year-old female from Augusta County being stabbed.

Investigating officers determined that John Rodgers, a 59-year-old Waynesboro man, became involved in a traffic-related dispute with the victim. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Mr. Rodgers allegedly used a long-bladed weapon to stab the female.

The victim was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Rodgers has been taken into custody and charged with Felony Aggravated Malicious Wounding.

Rodgers is currently being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.
