WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — UPDATE (12/18/25): A Waynesboro man was arrested after a road rage stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m.
According to the Waynesboro Police Department, they received a report of a road rage incident that occurred in the 1200 block of West Broad Street. The incident resulted in a 37-year-old female from Augusta County being stabbed.
Investigating officers determined that John Rodgers, a 59-year-old Waynesboro man, became involved in a traffic-related dispute with the victim. The dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Mr. Rodgers allegedly used a long-bladed weapon to stab the female.
The victim was transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Rodgers has been taken into custody and charged with Felony Aggravated Malicious Wounding. He will remain in custody for the foreseeable future after his hearing was continued until February 17th in Waynesboro General District Court on Thursday.
Rodgers is currently being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.
