WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Waynesboro man was arrested last Thursday, March 5 for aggravated sexual battery and possession of child pornography.

Waynesboro Police say at approximately 4:11 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Evershire Street for a report of disorderly conduct. Upon arrival, the individuals involved had already dispersed.

While on scene, officers received information regarding alleged prior criminal incidents involving a juvenile victim. Based on the information obtained, investigators initiated a follow-up investigation which included multiple interviews and the execution of a search warrant in the 400 block of Florence Avenue on Friday, March 6.

As a result of the investigation, Luis Ricardo Sanchez Solis, a 45-year-old Waynesboro resident, was identified as the suspect. Sanchez Solis was taken into custody in Nelson County without incident.

He has been charged with the following alleged offenses:

  • Aggravated Sexual Battery (18.2-67.3) – Five (5) counts
  • Possession of Child Pornography (18.2-374.1:1) – One (1) count

Sanchez Solis is currently being held at the Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
