WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Waynesboro man accused in the fatal hit and run crash over the weekend in Augusta County will remain in jail for the time being.

Samuel Call had a bond hearing scheduled for Monday afternoon in General District Court.

However, according to online records, that hearing was continued until December 5th.

The 36-year-old Call was charged with driving while intoxicated and felony hit and run following the accident Sunday evening on Stuarts Drive Highway.

Police say a Kia Sorento was travelling northbound on Route 340 when it struck an e-bike (that was also travelling northbound) near the intersection with Ladd Road.

The e-bike rider, 25-year-old Dylan Knowles of Waynesboro, died at the scene.

Call initially fled the scene but was later taken into custody with the help of the Waynesboro Police Department.
