WAYNESBORO, VA (Wayne Theatre) – The Wayne Theatre announced the 2025 Wayne Gala, a fundraising event that is also the theater’s 10th and 100th anniversaries. The event will be held on June 6, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wayne Theatre, located at 521 W. Main Street in Downtown Waynesboro, Virginia.

According to a press release, the 2025 Wayne Gala marks the beginning of the theatre’s centennial celebrations. Originally established in 1926 as a vaudeville and movie house, the Wayne Theatre has remained a treasured cultural institution for the Waynesboro community for generations. Following its extensive restoration and reopening in 2016, the theatre has flourished as a premier performing arts venue, dedicated to education, entertainment, and community engagement.

The Wayne Gala is the theatre’s largest and most important fundraising event of the year, supporting its arts programming, educational initiatives, and community outreach efforts.

Wayne Gala guests will enjoy an evening of:

  • A formal dinner reception, offering a specially curated menu of fine cuisine and beverages
  • Live music by Everyday People, a dynamic band renowned for its engaging and high-energy performances
  • Silent and live auctions, featuring exclusive items, experiences, and collectibles generously donated by local businesses and patrons
  • Pop-up performances, showcasing talented regional artists and theatre alumni
  • Dancing in the streets, as the 500 block of W. Main Street in Downtown Waynesboro transforms into a lively celebration of the arts

As the Wayne Theatre embarks on its centennial year while also celebrating its 10th anniversary as an organization in its modern form, the Wayne Gala plays a crucial role in sustaining the theatre’s mission to provide quality performing arts experiences for all ages.

Proceeds from the gala support the theatre’s programming as well as Studio Wayne, its robust arts education division, which offers:

  • Youth theatre productions
  • Acting, music, and dance workshops
  • Arts-integrated educational outreach programs
