WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Wayne Theatre will present River City Radio Hour Reunion on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the historic Wayne Theatre in Downtown Waynesboro.

According to a release, this live variety show – featuring music, comedy, and old-time radio theater – marks the return of a local tradition to the Wayne Theatre’s stage as the venue continues to celebrate its 100th anniversary (and 10th anniversary since reopening). The event is open to the public.

The River City Radio Hour began in 2007 as a production of the Wayne Theatre Alliance, offering a live radio-style variety show that showcased some of the Valley’s best local talent. Modeled after classic radio programs, each show combined live music, comedy sketches, and storytelling – often including a serialized “radio drama” segment – delivered in front of a live audience.

Audiences can look forward to the show’s house band The Boogie Kings, the return of the “Lady of Laughter” Marsha Howard, an Elvis impersonator tribute, the Hens of Renown, musician Kevin Chisnell, and more. In keeping with tradition, a brand-new scripted radio serial will be performed.
