WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Wayne Theatre presents “Jane Austen’s Persuasion“, adapted for the stage by award-winning playwright Melissa Leilani Larson.

The play opens Friday February 27 at 7:00 PM with additional performances on February 28, March 1, March 6, March 7 and March 8 at the historic Wayne Theatre in Downtown Waynesboro.

According to a release, set in early nineteenth-century England, Persuasion follows Anne Elliot, a woman who once allowed herself to be guided into giving up the man she loved. When Captain Frederick Wentworth reenters her life years later, Anne must confront her past decisions and the hope that renewal may still be possible.
