SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed one person in Shenandoah County earlier this week.
According to a news release, the crash occurred Wednesday, Sept. 25, shortly after 9 a.m. on the Old Valley Pike section of Route 11 near Moreland Gap Road.
A 2008 Buick Lucerne was traveling south on Route 11 at high speed when it ran off the right side of the roadway and collided with a tree.
The driver, Robert B. Colter, 60, of Mount Jackson, died at the scene of the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation.
