HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — It has now been 30 years and 10,000 leads since the disappearance and death of Alicia Showalter Reynolds, and Virginia State Police are still investigating.
Spokesman Matt Demlein explained that the 25-year-old graduate student from Harrisonburg was last seen on March 2, 1996, along Route 29.
“Her vehicle, a Mercury Tracer, was found abandoned later that day in Culpeper County. Her remains were discovered two months later in a field in Lignum, Virginia, which is also in Culpeper County,” said Demlein.
Witnesses claimed seeing her on the shoulder of the highway with an unknown man.
Demlein said the case is now considered “historic,” but does remain open and he encourages the public to come forward with any information.
