HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — Virginia Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry Katie Frazier was in Harrisonburg this week for this year’s Vantage Winter Conference at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds.

Frazier says she attended the event to thank farmers for continuing to invest in their farming operations and for implementing conservation practices on a daily basis.

“This is part of viability for our operations. Continuing to invest in the health of their soil and our water and air quality is important, and it is how they will be viable. So, I am really excited to be able to learn a little bit more from the folks who are here today and to show our support for this important work,” said Frazier.

“Vantage” – or the Virginia No-Tillage Alliance – was established in 2011 by farmers and agri-business representatives in the Commonwealth to maximize farm productivity and profitability by promoting the implementation of continuous no-till systems through technology, conservation and education.
