RICHMOND VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Virginia Lottery has published its June report detailing sports wagering activity from licensed operators. During the month, Virginians placed a total of $478 million in bets—an increase of nearly 15% compared to June of last year.
Players across the state won more than $417 million, resulting in a combined operator win percentage of 13%.
Under Virginia law, sports betting is taxed at 15% of each permit holder’s adjusted gross revenue. This generated over $8 million in tax revenue for the month, with more than $216,000 allocated to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund.
