ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is asking bear hunters for help this weekend.

The agency is asking hunters to take any harvested bears to a sampling station tomorrow between 8 am and 5 pm.

Samples taken from the animals will be used for a study on bear mange in Virginia.

Hunters who contribute will receive a bear hunter cooperation patch.
