ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Albemarle County Police Department has charged an Augusta County woman after staff at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail initiated a drug investigation.
Public Information Officer Logan Bogert reported in a news release that on Christmas Eve, the staff at the jail recovered around 100 sheets of suboxone concealed in a medical brace.
As a result of the investigation, Brooke Maddox of Verona was charged with one felony count of delivering a controlled substance to a prisoner.
The 32-year-old Maddox turned herself in at the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday and was released on an unsecured bond.
