VERONA, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Verona Volunteer Fire Company is grieving the loss of a fellow fireman.

In a statement posted to social media, the man, named only as a “brother in the fire service” had previously served with the Verona Volunteer Fire Company in many roles including Training Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Firefighter, and as an Emergency Medical Technician.

The message calls the community to pray for the fallen hero’s family, while explaining the man remains unnamed out of respect for those very same loved ones.

The post concludes with the following: “Rest easy brother, we will take it from here.
