AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — It’s five years in prison for the Verona man who arrested earlier this year on child pornography charges.

According to online records, Brian Karicofe pleaded guilty to 10 felony charges of possessing child pornography last week in Augusta County Circuit Court.

As a result of the plea, the 49-year-old will serve five years in prison with an additional five years of probation.

Karicofe was arrested February 24th after sheriff’s deputies received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

An investigation identified Karicofe as the suspect, but when deputies responded to his home, Karicofe initially refused to surrender and engaged in a brief standoff before he was finally apprehended.
