Verlin Lynn Conley, 71, a resident of Fulks Run, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

Mr. Conley was born on August 17, 1953 and was a son of the late Ralph Eugene and Alma Virginia Fulk Conley. Verlin spent the majority of his life in the trucking industry. He worked for various companies and was still currently driving for Brookneal Poultry. He loved his trucking career. Verlin loved to BBQ chicken for family reunions and his friends. He was a giving person who never met a stranger. He was a member of The Brethren of Mountain Grove Church.

Surviving are his children, Brittany Puckett and husband Mike of Fulks Run, Ashley Hose and husband Lake of Broadway, Jeremy Hendrix of Fulks Run; sisters, Wilma Wilkins of Fulks Run, Julia Webster and husband Preston “Buggs” of Lost City; grandchildren, Madison Puckett, Brianna Puckett, Wyatt Hose and Caleb Hose.

In addition to his parents, Verlin was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Conley; and brother-in-law, Howard Wilkins.

Jerry Shiflet will conduct a memorial service on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. at The Brethren of Mountain Grove Church.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home.
