STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to put focus on protecting children and promoting healthy family dynamics.
The Valley Children’s Advocacy Center in Staunton is committed to helping children who suffer from abuse in the Shenandoah Valley.
Charlé Johnson is the Associate Director of VCAC, and she said that they are dedicated to being an advocate for children and providing services to victims.
“Child sexual abuse, child physical abuse, severe neglect is something that effects children throughout their lives and we are that support system.” said Johnson.
Johnson also said that while donations are helpful, being educated and aware of child abuse can make a difference.
