STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) – The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia announced that it will host the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience from April 15 to April 17, 2025, offering visitors a rare opportunity to explore “Out of Many, One”, an immersive, hands-on traveling museum that highlights Virginia’s critical role in the American Revolution.
Housed in a state-of-the-art quad-expandable tractor-trailer, this interactive museum-on-wheels is part of the Virginia American Revolution 250 Commission (VA250) and is traveling to select locations throughout Virginia and beyond. With most stops taking place at schools, the museum’s arrival at the Frontier Culture Museum in Historic Staunton makes this a special and unique opportunity for visitors of all ages to engage with history in an innovative way.
The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience takes guests on a journey through the pivotal moments of the American Revolution, from Patrick Henry’s legendary 1775 speech—”Give me liberty, or give me death”—to General George Washington’s triumph at Yorktown in 1781. The museum tells the often-overlooked stories of the Indigenous Virginians, free and enslaved African Americans, and men and women from across the state who played a crucial role in securing American independence.
This is a limited-engagement educational experience. The VA250 Mobile Museum is designed to provide a dynamic, interactive learning experience that brings history to life. Through multimedia exhibits, hands-on activities, and engaging storytelling, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the founding ideals of the United States and how those ideals have evolved over the last 250 years.
“The VA250 Mobile Museum Experience is a powerful way to connect people to history in a personal, meaningful, and interactive way,” said Frontier Culture Museum Marketing Spokesperson, Shannon Sankar in a news release. “We are honored that the Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia is one of the few select locations that will be hosting this incredible traveling exhibition. We invite our community and visitors from across the region to take part in this rare opportunity and to learn more on the Frontier Culture Museum’s website.”
The mobile museum’s theme is named after the phrase E Pluribus Unum, which translates to “Out of Many, One.” Originally signifying the union of the thirteen colonies, the phrase has come to symbolize the ongoing effort to create a more inclusive nation, where the principles of liberty and equality extend to all people. The exhibit challenges visitors to consider how these ideals have shaped the American identity and how each generation contributes to the continuing story of our nation.
The Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia invites students, families, educators, and history enthusiasts to experience this immersive traveling exhibition during its three-day stop in Staunton.
