HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The first-degree murder trial of the Harrisonburg man authorities say was responsible for a mysterious death last summer was scheduled to get underway this morning.

However, the trial of Aaron Christopher Gordon Jr. was continued until Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Rockingham County Circuit Court.

According to online records, a motion to dismiss was filed this morning for Gordon, 25, who is accused of murdering Towan Julian Cappell, after his body was found at an Eastover Drive construction site on August 18, last year.

He was indicted by a grand jury last November and has remained in custody ever since.
