WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) — According to online records, a judge set an October 10 trial date for Corporal Jacob Moore and Officer Joseph Meadows during a plea hearing this morning in Waynesboro Circuit Court.

Both men are facing two charges each, including Assault and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer, stemming from an incident that reportedly occurred on April 6th between several officers at a location in the southern end of the city.

That was according to a joint news release from Waynesboro Police and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.

The 30-year-old Moore and 29-year-old Meadows were both placed on administrative leave and had their police powers suspended pending the outcome of the investigation.
