STANLEY VA (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Page County Sheriff’s Office continues to actively pursue leads in the search for Todd Shifflett, who remains wanted. Authorities emphasize that there is no imminent threat to the community, and residents should not panic.

Friday morning, at approximately 9:38 AM, deputies responded to a domestic situation involving a male and female. While searching the area where the male was last seen, deputies encountered the suspect on foot. The suspect, identified as Todd Shifflett, brandished a weapon at the deputies, who then took defensive positions and lost sight of him. No shots were fired during the encounter.

Shifflett has multiple outstanding warrants, including new charges of assault, brandishing, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon related to this morning’s incident.

The shelter-in-place order has been lifted, but authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant. Anyone with information on Shifflett’s whereabouts or who spots him should contact the Page County Sheriff’s Office at 540-743-6571 or call 911 in an emergency.

No further updates will be provided unless there is a significant development. Shifflett is considered armed and dangerous. The community’s cooperation is crucial as the investigation continues.

 

STANLEY, Va – (ROCKTOWN NOW) A Stanley man who was out on bail after being arrested last month in Rockingham County on drug charges, is in more hot water.

Page County Sheriff Chad Cubbage reported that deputies responded at around 9:30 Friday morning to a report of a domestic situation between a man and woman.
While checking the area of where the man was last seen, deputies engaged him on foot, who then brandished a weapon at the deputies.
Deputies took a defensive position behind cover and lost sight of the male. No shots were ever fired. The suspect was positively identified by deputies as Todd Shifflett, who is still wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Shifflett has multiple outstanding warrants, including new charges of assault, brandishing, and possession of a firearm by convicted felon for the incident this morning.
Sheriff Cubbage released a statement assuring residents of the Stanley area that increased patrols would be offered.
