HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Rockingham County teenager arrested last fall after allegedly throwing a firework into a crowd will go before a grand jury next week.

Online records show that two felony charges against 19-year-old Grayson Smith, including aggravated malicious wounding, were certified to the grand jury during a hearing yesterday in the general district court.

Those charges stem from an incident on September 23rd of last year, when Smith was accused of tossing the mortar-style firework into a social gathering on South Main Street in Harrisonburg. One person was seriously injured in the explosion.

His next hearing is set for April 15th in Rockingham County Circuit Court.
