HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – A group of student body presidents from 10 Virginia colleges, including James Madison University, want to meet with Governor Glenn Youngkin to discuss diversity, equity and inclusion.

The students sent a letter to the governor this week accusing him of making politically-driven changes to DEI initiatives.

They claim the changes have left students fearful for the future of services they rely on for educational and personal growth.

Other student body presidents who signed the letter include Virginia, Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University.

A spokesperson for the governor did not say if Youngkin would meet with the students.
