AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Augusta County Public Schools has announced that Steve Hom will serve as the Principal of Stuarts Draft Middle School effective this summer.
For the past six years, Hom has served as an Assistant Principal at Wilson Memorial High School and will now move up on July 1. Prior to working at WMHS, Hom was a Middle and High School Math Teacher for ten years in both Texas and Virginia.
A New York native, Hom earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics (with a minor in Psychology) from Concordia College and a master’s degree in Secondary Math Education from Columbia University. In 2016, he completed a second master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from Marymount University. His endorsements include Mathematics, Middle Education Mathematics (6-8), and Administration and Supervision. He is a member of both the Virginia and National Associations of Secondary School Principals.

He is a tireless advocate for students and has strong beliefs about the climate and culture needed in today’s middle schools. I know he will work hard for the Stuarts Draft community”, says Dr. Kelly Troxell, Division Superintendent.
