WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – Waynesboro Fire Department rushed to the scene on Winchester Avenue this morning. Fire and rescue crews responded to a reported structure fire at on the 200-block of South Winchester Drive around 9:45am.
According to Battalion Chief Tyler Clark, the structure in question was a small apartment building, where a fire originating from a window fan in one of the upper units spread to the building’s exterior.
All tenants were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and within 15 minutes of responding to the call, fire and rescue crews had contained and extinguished the blaze.
No one was injured in the incident.
