WARREN COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Strasburg man is custody on drug charges after he was arrested this week in Warren County.

According to a news release, authorities responded Tuesday evening to the Double Tree Hotel north of Front Royal to execute outstanding warrants for the arrest of 32-year-old Mark Castro.

Deputies arrived and saw Castro attempting to hide in shrubbery outside the hotel. As deputies approached, Castro fled but was quickly apprehended in a nearby wooded area after a short foot pursuit without further incident.

Further investigation led to the search of his hotel room where a digital scale, drug paraphilia, and about 24 grams of a white crystal-like substance consistent with methamphetamine were found.

Castro was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine and is currently being held without bond at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren Regional Jail.
