STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Staunton Police Department K-9 has retired after 7 years on the force.

K-9 Wilson retired earlier this week after countless hours training and over 800 deployments in his career with his handler MPO Owens.

Since March of 2019, Wilson has assisted with narcotics interdiction, suspect apprehensions, and assisted with locating missing juveniles and elderly persons.

At his retirement celebration, Wilson received a pup cup and lots of new treats and toys to enjoy in his retirement.
