STAUNTON, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Two people have been charged in connection to a robbery and assault at a Staunton residence in May.

According to a release, officers with the Staunton Police Department arrested Zachary Taylor Head, 33, and Raven Ciara May, 25 – both from Staunton – on Wednesday. Both were charged with multiple felonies including robbery and breaking and entering.

In addition, Head was charged with malicious wounding and May was charged with unlawful use of a firearm. The two are being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

The incident occurred on May 18, when officers responded to reports of a stabbing victim at a 7-Eleven on N. Coalter Street in Staunton shortly before 3:30 a.m. The suspects fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Officers determined the robbery and assault occurred at a nearby residence. The victim, a 25-year-old male from Staunton, sustained minor injuries.

The U.S. Marshals Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force assisted with the arrest, according to the release.
