WAYNESBORO, VA (Rocktown Now) – A Waynesboro County Circuit Court jury has convicted the Staunton man charged in a fatal shooting last summer.
According to online records, Jacob Preston Sipe was found guilty on all four charges, including second-degree murder.
The jury deliberated over three hours this afternoon before returning the verdicts, which culminated the three-day trial.
The charges were in connection with the death of 33-year-old Trevor Hill of Waynesboro, who was found dead the morning of July 23rd in the front porch of a home in the 400 block of James Avenue.
The 24-year-old Sipe will return to court on June 27th when he is formally sentenced, although Sipe’s attorney has indicated that he plans to appeal the verdict.
