STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Staunton Farmers’ Market will open its 2026 season on April 4 at a temporary new location, 2020 West Beverley Street, marking a significant shift after more than three decades at The Wharf.
The relocation follows the March 2025 closure of the east side of The Wharf due to safety concerns involving underground tunnels beneath the parking lot and surrounding streets. Market leadership, working in coordination with Staunton City Manager Leslie Beauregard, began searching for a site that could support the operational needs of the market while remaining accessible to vendors and customers.
The new location, adjacent to the J&DR District Court, offers access to electricity, space for restrooms and market storage, ample customer parking, and frontage along a major roadway. Market organizers also cited the opportunity to connect with new neighbors in Staunton’s West End.
After 33 years at its longtime home, market leaders acknowledged the move represents a major change but expressed enthusiasm about continuing to serve the community and welcoming returning and new customers.
The Staunton Farmers’ Market will operate from 7 a.m. to noon from April through September, 8 a.m. to noon from October through the third Saturday in November, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the first three Saturdays in December during the Holiday Market season.
Vendors will offer a range of locally produced goods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, meat, cheese, baked goods, coffee, and other artisanal products.
