STAUNTON, VA (Rocktown Now) — A first grade teacher at Ware Elementary School in Staunton has been named Teacher of the Year for Region 5.

Karen Grady was recognized for her dedication to hands on learning and ensuring her students receive a strong literary foundation.

Mrs. Grady is also a member and secretary of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company. The fire company said on social media her “commitment to education and service is an inspiration to us all.”
