HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) – Arts Council of the Valley (ACV) announced the opening of Beyond the Classroom: Educator’s Artistic Voice, an exhibition filled with artwork in a variety of media by members of the Blue Ridge Virginia Art Education Association. The show opens at Smith House Galleries April 4, during First Fridays of the Valley, with a 5-7 pm reception. Visit the reception to explore works of art by 33 art educators, chat with the artists, and enjoy light refreshments.

Participating artists are Megan Aldhizer, Leslie Banta, Jess Beach, Jauan M. Brooks, Tisha L. Burke, Kaitlyn Canter, Sherri Ciszek, DeIna Coleman, Lynn Hilton Conyers, Heather Fontaine Deeney, Kate Duffy, Mary Evans, Brooke Fawley, Naomi Gibson, Abigail Gómez, Ashley Hinton, Carol Hostetter, Rachel Janacaro, Courtney Lee Jarvis, Holly Lotts, Katie McKinley, Margaret Miller, Delaney Nave, Christine Pilson, Emily Quesenberry, Paige Ramsey, Kelley R. Shradley-Horst, Meredith Stenberg, Ryan Tenberg, Jennifer M. Tremblay, Sarah Waldrop, Brandi Wolfe, and Kameron Yee.

The exhibition, sponsored by Hess Financial, is installed through April 25, with in-person visits Monday-Friday, 11 am to 4 pm, and Second Saturday (April 12) from 10 am to 2 pm. The exhibition will also be available online in early April.
