WEYERS CAVE, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Shenandoah Valley Airport (SHD) will conduct a full-scale disaster drill on Saturday, September 21 at 9a.m. as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure preparedness and coordination among multiple emergency response agencies. The drill will simulate a mass casualty incident at the airport, allowing first responders and airport staff to practice the Airport’s Emergency Response Plan and the Regional Mass Casualty Incident Plan in a realistic environment. Director of Marketing and Communications for SHD, Heather Ream, says this drill is essential for the airport’s emergency readiness and will help improve coordination between agencies, ensuring the safety and security of travelers in the event of a real emergency.
