BLACKSBURG, VA: (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Shenandoah County 4-H Livestock Judging and Skillathon Teams showcased their talents at the Virginia Tech Block and Bridle Livestock Judging and Skillathon Contest held on March 15-16, 2025.
Livestock Judging Contest Results: The Senior Individuals team, comprising Olivia Hawkins and Lizzi Zirkle, delivered impressive performances. Lizzi Zirkle secured the Second High Individual spot in the Swine Division among 93 contestants.
The Junior Team A, featuring Leigha Dirting, George Hawkins IV, and Savannah Ritenour, achieved notable placements:
Sixth High Team in Sheep and Goat Category
Seventh High Team in Swine Category
Tenth High Team in Beef Category
Eighth High Team in Reasons Category
Fifth High Team Overall out of 24 teams
Additionally, Junior Individuals Bryna Dysart and Adalynn Hawkins also competed, contributing to the team’s overall success.
Skillathon Contest Results: The Senior Team, consisting of Olivia Hawkins, Brittany Sine, Brooke Sine, and Lizzi Zirkle, earned the Eighth High Team position in the Quiz and Identification Category out of 64 teams.
Junior Team A, including Leigha Dirting, Tanner Hawkins, George Hawkins IV, and Savannah Ritenour, excelled with:
Sixth High Team in Judging and Questions
Tenth High Team Overall out of 54 teams
Junior Team B, made up of Bryna Dysart, Adalynn Hawkins, and Reed King, also participated, showcasing their skills and dedication.
