VIRGINIA (Harrisonburg-Rockingham Emergency Communications Center) – UPDATE: The National Weather Service in has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until tomorrow, May 16 at 6:45 PM.

The areas effected are: South central Rockingham County in western Virginia and the City of Harrisonburg in western Virginia.

Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail are indicated.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch today, May 15 until May 16 at 12:00 AM.
