SHENANDOAH COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) – Today, Friday, April 11th, 2025, the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident regarding school threats at North Fork Middle School.
According to an online post, on Thursday, April 3rd, a verbal threat that was made by a suspected 14-year-old male, stating they were going to “stab and kill everyone in the school”. This threat was not reported to school officials and the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office until Friday, April 11th.
Today, a verbal altercation in a classroom occurred, where the suspected juvenile picked up a piece of wood and poked another student, followed by them making a stabbing motion towards the student. This led the student to report the threat from April 3rd. Upon further investigation, a knife, 3” in length, was found in the suspected juvenile’s bookbag.
The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office said they are seeking juvenile petitions for:
- 18.2-308: Prohibits carrying concealed weapons
- 18.2-308.1: Possession of firearm, stun weapon, or other weapon on school property prohibited
