VERONA, VA (Rocktown Now) — On Saturday, November 1, 2025, local Scout Troops from Scouting America Shenandoah Area and Virginia Headwaters Councils will distribute door hangers in neighborhoods across the region, reminding residents of the annual Scouting for Food Drive. 

According to a release, Scouts will return on November 8th to those same neighborhoods to collect food donations from community members. Residents are encouraged to leave bags or boxes of canned or dry food by their front doors by 8:00 AM for pickup. 

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank’s most-needed items include non-perishable, high-protein, low-sodium, low-sugar, and whole-grain foods. 

Glass containers are not accepted.
