Sara Frances Meadows, 88, of Elkton, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024 at her home. Mrs. Meadows was born December 30, 1935 in Elkton and was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruby Cook Kite. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Denise Meadows; 10 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Meadows grew up near Elkton and was a member of the East Point Independent Church, where she was active in many church functions. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was the last surviving sibling of the Kite family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
On March 15, 1955 she married Howard M. Meadows, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1973.
Mrs. Meadows is survived by a son, Gregory Meadows and companion, Martha; a daughter, Chanda Carrier and husband, Charlie; grandchildren, Greg Meadows and wife, Michelle, Austin Carrier, Steven Carrier; great-grandchildren, Marquis Meadows, Siann Meadows. Numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening October 15, 2024 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Paster Roger Riggleman officiating. Burial will follow in the East Point Cemetery near Elkton.
