ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) –Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson is cautioning folks headed out on the town this weekend to party responsibly.
The sheriff said during his latest Rocktown Now Crime Report that deputies arrested 31 people last Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Of those 31 arrests, 19 charges were filed related to drug possession, public intoxication, and driving under the influence.
Hutcheson said that spring fever is no excuse for breaking the law.
“We know it’s springtime and we know that everybody wants to have some fun, but certainly, with the drugs and alcohol, they can also lead you to some trouble,” Hutcheson said. “And we want you to have fun. We want you to be safe in doing so and hopefully we want you to not come to jail just as bad as you don’t want to go to jail.
