ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — A Rockingham County woman convicted of embezzling money from the Parent Teacher Association at Cub Run Elementary School will serve one year in jail.
Elizabeth Nicole Taylor of McGaheysville was sentenced to eight years in prison during a hearing Tuesday in Rockingham County Circuit Court. However, a judge suspended seven of those years, according to online records.
Taylor was found guilty by a jury back in December of embezzling more than a thousand dollars from the Cub Run P.T.A. while serving as the association’s treasurer back in 2022. She was arrested in November of 2023.
Taylor will also serve five years of supervised probation upon her release and will be forced to pay over 33-hundred dollars in costs.
