Rockingham County is one of the most productive counties in Virginia when it comes to agriculture. In fact, it is THE most productive county in the Old Dominion.

Rockingham County ranks #1 in Virginia for poultry production; it also ranks #1 for dairy production; Rockingham County ranks #2 for grain and hay production; and #3 in the state for sheep and tree fruits. The closest county to Rockingham in economic importance is Augusta County.
