ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Rockingham County Planning Commission is scheduled to meet tonight and on the agenda is an amendment to the comprehensive plan.
Assistant County Administrator Casey Armstong told host Jim Britt on WSVA’s Early Mornings Tuesday that the amendment to be voted on will help mitigate the impact of the county’s critical infrastructure.
“In particular, it’s looking at the number of certificates of occupancy or building permits that are issued in a rolling 12 month period and trying to hold the developer to a number at the beginning of the project that we can tolerate and that we can absorb so that we don’t become overwhelmed with any of those infrastructures in particular schools,” Armstrong said.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at the county office building.
