ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, VA (Rocktown Now) — Rockingham County Public Schools and Rockingham County Government held a Community Conversation this morning regarding the future of Massanutten Technical Center Programming and Workforce Development. 

This is a result of Harrisonburg Public School’s decision to withdraw from the program effective 2027. 

Director of MTC Kevin Hutton said during his presentation they are excited for the future but also enjoyed having the Harrisonburg students involved. 

“Obviously it’s tough for us to not think about servicing those students anymore, giving them the opportunity, but that is their decision,” said Hutton.

He continued by saying they are ready to move forward positively.
