MCGAHEYSVILLE, VA (Rocktown Now) — A field fire was reported at 11:55 this morning on 1132 Three Springs Road in McGaheysville, VA.
According to Rockingham County Fire Chief Jeremy Holloway, 3 acres had been involved in the fire as well as 15 hay bales upon arrival. The fire had started in a corn field where they had been bush-hogging.
“It took us about 40 minutes to contain the fire and the hay bales and spread them out,” said Holloway.
Holloway reported that the fire had been contained. The fire stayed on the field it started in, but due to rapid wind, the fire did spread.
