Richard Allen Lam, 70, of Elkton, Virginia, passed away February 9, 2024, at home. Born January 19, 1954, in Elkton, he was a son of the late Thomas Lindsay and Margaret Marie Smith Lam.
Rick was raised in the Newtown area of Elkton and graduated from Elkton High School. He worked in construction and had a career as a woodcrafter with the Architect of the Capital. Most recently Ricky retired from Rockingham County Schools where he was a custodian at Spotwood High. He was a past member of the Elkton Masonic Lodge and Shriners. Rick had a great interest in hot rods and muscle cars, especially his Nova.
Surviving are his wife, Debra Kite Lam; sons, Scott Lam and wife, Tricia and Joe Lam; daughters, Heather Lam, Lindsay Lam, Kimberley Hoover and husband, Wesley and Ashley Hensley; grandchildren, Olivia Lam, Andrew Lam, Abagail Lucas, Nicholas Lam, Joshua Huffman, Brady Hoover, Grayson Hoover, Riley Cubbage and Madalyn Cubbage; brother-in-law, Ernest Shifflett; sister-in-law, Shirley Lam and great number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, David Lam, Faye Shifflett, Agnes Bridges and Georgia Morris.
