Richard Adair Marcopulos, 70, of Harrisonburg passed away March 23, 2024 at his residence.

Rick was born on July 27, 1953, to Alexander Marcopulos and Bonnie Lou Taulbee in the District of Columbia. He was a 1971 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School and spent most of his adult life living and working in the Northern Virginia area. Rick held a variety of jobs in his lifetime and was a skilled carpenter and salesman. Two of his proudest accomplishments were his participation and commitment to the Alcoholics
Anonymous fellowship and writing and publishing a book of poetry, Comparing In: Poems in Early Recovery. He was known as a dedicated friend and support to many.

Rick is survived by his children Melissa Garber (Austin) of Broadway, Tony Marcopulos of Linville, and six grandchildren, Maggie Garber McClary (Sean), Luke Garber, Ian Garber, Andrew Garber, Grace Marcopulos and Leo Marcopulos. Also surviving are a brother Donald P. Marcopulos of Newport News and a sister Beverly Connor of Broad Run. In addition to his family, Rick leaves behind countless friends who became family.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Richard Aaron Marcopulos.
