RHSPCA is participating in Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters Event that is running from May 1st-15th! During this time, we will be featuring a “Name Your Price” adoption special on all adult dogs, adult cats, small critters, and kittens where adoption fees will be as little as $1.

Lexi
Lexi is a 7 year old Miniature Pinscher who was surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. Here’s her bio:
“I’m a sweet girl that recently came into the care of the Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA. I need a special family that can provide for my ongoing medical needs. I had pancreatitis and had to be switched to a prescription low fat food. The good news is that my bloodwork came back normal and the kind people here tell me that I can go home with a family that can make sure I visit a vet regularly, stay on my special diet, and definitely don’t get any human food. I love to go for walks and cuddle up with my people! A home without young kids would be perfect for me, but I wouldn’t mind another doggy sibling to pal around with! I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take much to win me over.”

Ophelia
Ophelia is a 2 year old cat that was found as a stray. Here’s her bio:
Meet Ophelia, a cat with a personality as intriguing as her name. She’s sweet, friendly, and gentle, with a goofy side that will keep you smiling. She’s the kind of cat that will nuzzle into your hand for a scratch behind the ears, and then surprise you with a playful swat at a piece of string. Ophelia is mellow and cuddly, and her favorite place to be is snuggled up in her covered cat bed. She enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like a warm spot to nap and a kind voice to greet her. Ophelia would make a wonderful addition to any home. Her calm demeanor and affectionate nature make her the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal and loving pet.
