HARRISONBURG, VA (Rocktown Now) — The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA will deliver heartwarming holiday magic to families in Rockingham County and the City of Harrisonburg. Beginning December 16, 2024, adopters can choose a new furry family member and schedule a special holiday delivery straight to their home by Santa’s very own helpers.

“Can you imagine the sheer joy of a family meeting their new pet on Christmas morning?” said Huck Nawaz, Executive Director of the RHSPCA. “We’re thrilled to provide unforgettable, lifetime memories and experiences for families in our community this holiday season.”

From December 16 to 21, adopters are invited to visit the RHSPCA to select their new dog or cat. Families will then have the opportunity to schedule a delivery by the RHSPCA Elves in Action on December 23, 24, or 25. Each pet will arrive at their new home with festive collars, leashes, or crates, spreading holiday cheer as they greet their forever families.

To adopt a pet and schedule a delivery, follow these simple steps:
  1. Visit the RHSPCA at 2170 Old Furnace Road, Harrisonburg, VA, between December 16 and 21 to select and adopt a pet.
  2. Complete the adoption application, go through adoption counseling, pay the regular adoption fee, and schedule your delivery with the RHSPCA Elves in Action (there is a limited number of delivery times and are first come first served).
  3. Be ready and awake at your scheduled delivery time to welcome your new family member.
While the adoption fee remains standard, a suggested donation of $200 or more is greatly appreciated to support the RHSPCA’s lifesaving efforts.
